A woman was travelling down a quiet country road when she noticed movement in the thorny overgrowth alongside the road. She continued her investigation and soon discovered a wounded dog limping in the thickets. Despite his excruciating wounds, the hurt, lonely dog was overjoyed to see her and leapt over the overgrowth into the woman’s arms.
The dog, eventually named Vlad, was malnourished and in serious need of assistance. He realized the woman was his only shot of life, so he hugged her and jumped into her car, filled with newfound optimism. According to ilovemydog, the poor creature was so hungry that he tried to eat a bag of Kleenex in the car.
Vlad was brought in by the “Howl Of A Dog” rescue group. His initial vet examination revealed he had double leg fractures, presumably as a result of a hit-and-run. Because the injuries were at least a week old, they had worsened, which indicated Vlad had been starved and suffering alone for that long.
Vlad needed emergency surgery to correct his limb problems. His rehabilitation was arduous, but the shelter employees encouraged him and gave him the strength to persevere despite the agony and discomfort until he was fully recovered. He regained total function of his wounded leg with more activity and blossomed into a dazzling gorgeous lad!
Vlad has now found his permanent home with a family in Phoenix, Arizona, where he lives like a prince! Curt, his new father, has renamed him “Buddy,” which fits the pooch’s friendly and devoted disposition well. Buddy, have a wonderful life and never stop smiling!
