Each night, the traumatized rescue dog naps with his food bowl because he can’t even believe he’s actually safe…

Little Neville is enamored with his food bowl; he takes it everywhere with him and sleeps with it every night.

At first look, the young dog’s choice of a food dish as his “security blanket” appears sweet, but the source of Neville’s attachment is distressing.

Although the little pup now lives in safety and comfort, this has not always been the case.

Neville had been living as a stray for a long time and had no idea when he would obtain his next meal.

He had to fight for every piece of food and go hungry when he couldn’t get enough.

But Neville was eventually saved from the streets, and when Susanne saw his photo on a rescue shelter website, she knew she had to adopt him.

Susanne already had a rescue dog, but there was something about Neville that made her feel compelled to adopt him.

Susanne stood in line for three hours outside the rescue center, hoping to be the first person to ask to adopt Neville.

That was how passionate she was about the little puppy she had yet to meet.

Susanne was given permission to adopt Neville, and she brought him home with her.

She began to notice the affects of Neville’s rough life on his mental state there; he refused to eat from his own bowl, preferring instead to eat off the floor. He also attempted to fight Susanne’s other dog over his meal.

Neville had plainly had to struggle for every bite of food on the streets, and it was difficult for him to accept that he no longer had to worry about going hungry.

Susanne, on the other hand, did her best to show Neville that he was now safe and cherished, and that he’d never go hungry again.

Neville eventually began eating out of his own bowl after a few months. Neville’s infatuation with the bowl began at this point.

It became his most prized treasure, and he still carries it with him wherever he goes two years after Susanne adopted him.

After all those times of going hungry or fighting for food, getting his own food bowl must feel like heaven.

While Neville’s story is terrible, it is also comforting to know that he has finally found a family who loves him and that he can find peace and consolation in something as basic as a food bowl.

Neville is in excellent hands, and with Susanne’s assistance, he will undoubtedly continue to gain confidence and security.
