I’m sure there are days when you yearn to be surrounded by people, smiling and spreading positivity, but there are also moments when you wish you could simply remain at home all day and be alone.
One adorable puppy, on the other hand, never seems to be in a bad mood!
Each visitor to the Bullock County Humane Society got the opportunity to touch hands with a very friendly and loving canine named Speck for a year and a half!
Speck pressed his face between the metal bars and held out his paw as soon as somebody approached him.
The shelter’s administrator, Desiray Miracle-Wilder, clarified:
“All he wants is love from others.” He’ll reach out his little hand and just ask for you to touch and hold it. And he’s so disappointed when you go to finish cleaning or whatever.”
Before he landed up in the Alabama shelter, Speck’s life was not simple. All of the wounds on his face, as well as the time he spent undetected at the shelter, had no effect on him…
Desiray continued:
“You might put anything around him — another large dog, a cat — but he’s so focused on gaining love from people that he doesn’t care about anything else.”
He only wants to be touched. If you sit down, he will lie down on you; if you take his hand, he will take yours; if you scratch his tummy, he will roll over.
Speck is all a puppy should be, yet he wants to be best friends with his owner.
On the first day of our interaction, he had my heart. My family had no idea how or why such a wonderful dog had been disregarded and forgotten in the shelter. I knew I had to show the world this lovely boy the moment he put his paw out to me, then my husband, and eventually my daughters.”
“In upstate New York with his new owner, dad Mike on a 26-acre farm,” she finally found a wonderful home for the friendly dog.
Allie’s Hope For Paws Dog Rescue in Union Springs, AL, which assists creatures like Speck, offered to take him to his new home.
“We are really pleased,” Wilder said, hoping that Speck would inspire people to open their hearts and save other stray dogs.
We’re all relieved that this sweet puppy has found a forever home and will receive the love and attention he deserves!
