A stray dog in Spain decided her own fate by chasing after a moving car until the couple inside came to her rescue.
Martina Russo and her partner Fil were traveling through the Spanish countryside when they noticed a dog tailing them. They assumed it was all in good fun at first, but the dog kept chasing them.
“We thought it was just a game at first,” Russo told Southwest News Service (SWNS), “but we quickly recognized something wasn’t right because she was running fast and wouldn’t stop.”
The couple pulled over to see what the dog was up to in the midpoint of nowhere. They observed her hair was tangled and that she had been living alone for quite some time as she approached.
They fed her and took her to town in the hopes of finding her owners. “We took her to the vet following day: female, not spayed, no chip, around a year old,” Russo explained.
They tried to track out her owners by stopping at houses along the way and posting on social media groups. They adopted the beautiful puppy and named her Moxie after no one came forward to claim her.
Before beginning her new life, the Shih Tzu/Yorkie mix was thoroughly groomed and bathed.
With her feline siblings and caring parents, the joyful puppy now lives her best life by traveling and discovering new locations.
Moxie adores everyone she meets and can’t wait to start her own family.
She also never appears to be exhausted.
“She’s really nice and amusing, quite playful, and she adores our cats – in fact, she adores everything and everyone (especially cats and children)!” We enjoy going on adventures with Bella, and she makes us laugh every day,” Russo says.
The cats are beginning to accept her.
