Lady the Shepherd had little and never received any love or attention because she was chained around the clock all year. It was muddy and flooded when it rained, and she was lonely and despondent, growing more miserable with each passing day.
However, PETA fieldworkers visited the dog on a regular basis over the years, trying to persuade her owner to give her up for a better life. However, they consistently refused. Lady was growing increasingly fearful, and she would not even come out of her doghouse to greet her visitors.
PETA would continue to press the issue, and their persistence would finally pay off in a huge way: Lady’s owner decided to hand her over, and she was given a lovely second chance at life! Wolfie von Fluffer Bottom, or “Wolfie” for short, is now living happily ever after in a loving forever home.
