What would you do if your dog went missing? Posters, perhaps? Should search parties be dispatched? Leave their favorite basket out in the hopes that they would return? Look at local shelters? After a week, this father had done everything and was beginning to lose hope. His daughter, on the other hand, arrived with a great surprise.
“Butters disappeared around a week and a half ago,” Anabel Vargas adds. “And now we’re on our way home to amaze Daddy, Kaylah, and Bubbas,” says the group.
When the Vargas family traveled on vacation to California, they left Butterscotch at their Las Vegas home. However, he had escaped when they returned. He was nowhere to be located, despite their lost dog posters and rescue efforts. They had been looking for this joyous moment for twelve days.
Butterscotch was supposed to be picked up by Anabel’s sister the day after they left, but he escaped before she came. As soon as they got the news, the family returned from their vacation.
After her spouse Jesse Arias had spent the morning looking for their dog, Anabel’s viral YouTube video picks up. She’d gotten a tip about a dog that matched Butterscotch’s description near the motorway, so she went to investigate. For a dog, a motorway is a dangerous place.
She struck gold. She was ecstatic to discover their beloved dog alive and well, and she couldn’t wait to reunite with him.
In the adorable video, you can watch their responses for yourselves. Dad Jesse has the most out of control reaction, sprinting to his car, but their children are equally adorable. They’re all simply relieved to have their cherished canine companion back in their lives.
