While taking a stroll in Gloucester, a local resident came across a distressing sight. They witnessed someone hastily exiting a white van and callously discarding a plastic bag into a trash can.
To their shock and dismay, they discovered a tiny puppy inside the discarded bag, as if she were mere garbage. Acting swiftly, they rescued the defenseless pup and rushed her to the veterinarian.
It is speculated that her previous owner either couldn’t afford the necessary veterinary care she needed, or, perhaps, as a breeder, they felt they couldn’t sell her in her current condition.
Regardless of the reasons, abandoning her in such a vulnerable state was absolutely unacceptable.
The puppy, named Winnie, is now in the care of her compassionate rescuer. In approximately 15 weeks, she will undergo surgery to remove her deformed leg. Following the surgery, she will require physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to help her adapt to life with three legs.
Winnie still has some challenges to overcome before she’s ready for adoption, but in the meantime, she’s receiving an abundance of love and care from her heroes.
The hope is that Winnie will make a complete recovery and go on to lead a joyful life with her newfound strength and resilience despite having just three legs.
