A resident of Gloucester was taking a stroll one day when they witnessed an individual exiting a white van and callously discarding a plastic bag into a trash can.
To their astonishment, they discovered a small puppy that had been callously abandoned, treated like disposable refuse. Without hesitation, they scooped up the helpless pup and promptly sought veterinary assistance.
There are two possible explanations for this heartless act: either the owner couldn’t afford the necessary veterinary care, or, as a breeder, they might have believed they couldn’t sell her in such a condition.
Regardless of the reasons, abandoning her in such a vulnerable state is absolutely unacceptable.
Winnie, the puppy, will require surgery in approximately 15 weeks to remove her deformed leg. Following the surgery, she will need physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to help her adapt to a life with only three legs.
Although Winnie still faces several challenges before she can be considered for adoption, she is currently receiving an abundance of love and care from her heroes.
